Mt Norquay, famed for being the training ground of World Class athletes, is Banff's family-friendly resort and the gem of the locals. The small resort is just a 5-minute drive from Banff, so it is easy to reach even if you only have time to squeeze in a morning or afternoon there. The variance of terrain here is superb, with excellent beginner areas to perfect your skills on before you head to the more challenging runs.

The resort features more than 3,300 acres of skiable terrain, ranging from gentle, inviting beginner runs all the way up to the most extreme big mountain runs. The Lake Louise Ski Area is Canada's giant ski resort and offers over 4,200 acres of skiable terrain over four mountain faces. The layout of the mountain is genius with beginner, intermediate and expert runs leading off every chair, which means that families and groups of all ages can enjoy skiing together. When skiing here, make sure you have your camera as you are surrounded by some of the most breath-taking scenery, with views across Lake Louise itself.
