How to find cheap flights to Calgary, Canada?
- Go in the low season - The winter months of January and February are considered the ‘low season’ in Calgary; whilst the weather will be very cold, you can get cheaper Calgary flights. High season is considered to be June, July, and August, and the best time to visit for skiing is November through to March.

Getting around Calgary
Calgary Airport offers easy access to various transport and transfer options after your flight, simplifying your onward journey into Calgary and beyond. Take advantage of our great rates when you book your Calgary car hire with us or use some of the available public transport options below.
Several car rental companies operate from the airport. You can pre-book your Avis car hire with us.
As part of the Calgary Transit, public buses run between Calgary Airport and the city centre, and tickets are cheap. Route 300 is a rapid, limited-stop service to Downtown.
The Allied Downtown Shuttle Service runs every 30 minutes and can be pre-booked.
Many hotels in Calgary offer a courtesy shuttle service. Simply ring your hotel from the phones located at the bus bays to arrange pick up.
Various limousine options are available at Calgary airport.
Licensed taxi stands are located by Arrivals and offer reasonable rates into Calgary. Approximate fares are about $40-45 to downtown. More luxurious sedans are around 25% more expensive.

Calgary Tower
Standing 191 metres tall, the Calgary Tower is one of the city's most recognisable landmarks. Originally built in 1968 to commemorate Canada's centennial, it offers a spectacular 360° view of downtown Calgary as well as views of the Rocky Mountains. Elevators whisk visitors to the top in around 60 seconds, where the famous glass floor lets the brave look straight down onto 9th Avenue below. For something extra special, dine at Sky 360, a revolving restaurant that completes a full rotation roughly every hour.
Heritage Park Historical Village
Explore Heritage Town Square, which includes restaurants, shopping and the world-class Gasoline Alley Museum. Discover how the introduction of the automobile changed Canada's culture. Seasonally, from May until October, step back in time to the lively Historical Village. Meet friendly pioneers, visit the First Nations encampment, ride an authentic steam train, enjoy the antique midway and immerse yourself in the old west. All rides are included with admission.
Canada Olympic Park
One of the key venues from the 1988 Winter Olympics, this WinSport-owned park is now a year-round playground. Enjoy skiing and snowboarding in winter, or try the family-friendly Servus Tube Park, one of Western Canada’s largest. In summer, try mountain biking, zip lines, and summer bobsleigh, including the Monster Zip line, North America's fastest, reaching speeds of up to 140 km/h.
Calgary Zoo
Calgary Zoo is a 125-acre attraction on St. George's Island and is home to more than 4,000 animals, making it the second-largest zoo in Canada. Established in 1929, the zoo is internationally recognised for its conservation research, and visitors can explore immersive habitats including Destination Africa, Canadian Wilds, Penguin Plunge and the TransAlta Rainforest. Seasonal favourites like the winter ZOOLIGHTS spectacle make it a must-visit any time of year.

Summer (June-September): The weather in Calgary is warm and clear, and the city has the most sun year-round of Canada’s 100 largest cities, averaging 332 days of sun. Average summer temperatures are often mid-twenties or even over 30°C.
Winter (November-February): The skies in Calgary are usually clear and sunny, with little rain, and warm Chinook winds from the Rockies bring warmer days even in winter. Calgary winters have lots of snow, which is perfect for skiing holidays in nearby Banff or Lake Louise. Average temperatures are around -7°C.
Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September – October): Calgary’s shoulder seasons are very unpredictable. Late-season snowfalls are common in April but slowly give way to the much warmer weather in May (16° / 4°). Autumns maintain daytime highs between 12°C and 17°C, before temperatures drastically falling again in November (3° / -7°).

The average direct flight time from London to Calgary is around 9 hours. It’s a smooth journey with daily services. Non-direct flights take about 16 hours (including a layover).
Calgary International Airport is about 16 km from downtown Calgary, a drive of roughly 17–20 minutes by car, taxi, or shuttle. If desired, we can arrange airport transfers or a Canada car rental to make things as easy as possible when you touchdown.
There are currently no direct flights from Manchester to Calgary; all flights require at least one stopover. Most flights to Calgary will stop over in Toronto.
Late autumn and winter are generally when you can get cheaper flights to Calgary. July and August are peak season thanks to the Calgary Stampede and warm summer weather, so prices to fly to Calgary are at their highest.
