Québec City Holidays
Québec City is a treasure of Canada’s French heritage and the country’s oldest city. A real gem in Eastern Canada’s crown, the city is oozing a real old-world charm with its 17th-century fortifications, cobblestone streets, the iconic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac hotel, and many other historical landmarks. The impressive architecture, Parisian-style cafes, art galleries and designer boutiques often put the city in the top positions of Canada’s most romantic cities to visit. Quebec City holidays can offer something special for everyone, from history buffs to couples looking for the perfect romantic getaway.

Best time to visit Québec City
If you are after a summer city escape where you can enjoy endless hours strolling the charming cobblestone streets of Old Québec, visiting art galleries, and dining outside under the stars, then the best time for a holiday in Québec City is between June and September. July is usually the hottest month with temperatures that reach highs of 25°C. If you happen to visit in August, then you are in for a treat with the New France Festival taking place.
If you are looking for a city break in Canada, then December until February is a wonderful time for a winter getaway in the city. The world heritage site of Old Québec turns into a magical winter wonderland for the festive season with glittering lights on the streets, performances, and lots of festive joy. January is the coldest month with temperature lows of -15°C and a deep blanket of snow; an ideal time for winter activities, such as skating, tobogganing, and snow tubing. Must-visit attractions during the winter season are the Ice Hotel and the famous Quebec Winter Carnival.
Spring (March – May) and autumn (September-November) are perfect for those wanting to avoid the tourist season and enjoy lower holiday rates. Not only that but some iconic Québec City experiences can be tried during that time, such as visiting a sugar shack and celebrating spring with a maple-soaked dish of traditional Québécois cuisine.
